RS PRO Flat Ribbon Cable

RS PRO colour coded ribbon cable with 10 colour repeat for use with the Speedbloc® insulation displacement connectors. This ribbon cable consists of stranded round conductors pre-insulated with colour-coded PVC and laminated on specific centres between layers of clear PVC to form a planar cable. May be split into any number of ways by tearing between conductors. The colour coding allows easy circuit tracing and routing, whilst the laminate ensures precise alignment and spacing between conductors, essential during assembly with the connectors.

Flat ribbon cable consists of multiple individual small grade cable strands places parallel to each other to form a flattened single strip. This type of flat cable is found in electronic systems that need multiple data buses to link internal peripherals. Colour coding is often implemented in ribbon cables to minimise the risk of accidental reverse connections. Ribbon cable can also save space and time on circuit interconnecting assemblies.

Flat Ribbon Cable options include:
359920 - 14 Way, 17.91 mm width x 30m
359942 - 16 Way, 20.45 mm width x 30m
359958 - 24 Way, 30.61 mm width x 30m
359986 - 36 Way, 45.85 mm width x 30m
359992 - 37 Way, 47.12 mm width x 30m
360015 - 50 Way, 63.63 mm width x 30m
360021 - 64 Way, 81.41 mm width x 30m

RS PRO have a great range of ribbon and flat cable in several formats and grades.

Features and Benefits:

Flat and flexible – can be easily routed in small spaces
Provides a tidy wiring solution
Colour coded - Brown, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet, grey, white and black
Available is various ways from 14 way to 64

Ribbon cable also known as planar cable is normally used for internal peripherals in computers such as hard drives.

FAQs

What is Pitch?
The pitch of a cable is the distance from the central part of one conductor to the central part of another conductor.
