RS Pro Indirect Vented Goggles

RS Pro Indirect Vented Goggles designed for working in tough environments. The goggles are Polycarbonate providing a flexible PVC frame which gives you an ultra – light and comfortable wear. The goggles are indirectly ventilated which provide protection from splash by a covered vent that allows for air movement but prevents liquid from going directly in the goggle.

Features and Benefits
• Made from Polycarbonate lighter in weight and thinner than standard plastic lenses, and shatterproof
• Indirect ventilation - ideal for acid and chemical handling, hot sparks degreasing and plating activities
• Comply to En166 1b
• Flexible soft frame for comfortable fitting
• Lens protected from extreme impacts (268mph)
• Suitable for tough working environments - ideal for acid and chemical handling, hot sparks, degreasing and plating activities
• Back elastic for ease of movement

Standards

The CE marking certifies that a product has met EU consumer safety, health or environmental requirements. All safety frames must pass the European EN166 standard, If EN166 is not stamped on the frame then it may be advisable to look elsewhere
EN166(1b3)
B - withstand impacts against small objects travelling up to 120 meters per second
3 - Protect against liquid droplets and splashes. This is usually only found on goggles where a full seal is made around the eyes

How do I recognise safety eye wear?

A.Lenses: CSA-certified eye and face protectors must meet the criteria for impact resistance as outlined in the standard Only devices made of approved materials are permitted.
Markings: The manufacturer or supplier certification mark must be present on all approved safety lenses, frames (front and temple), removable side shields, and other parts of the glasses, goggles, or helmets.
Frames: Safety frames are stronger than street-wear frames and are often heat resistant. They are also designed to prevent lenses from being pushed into the eyes.

What type of safety goggle do I need ?

A.Direct vented goggles allow the direct flow of air into the goggle The openings in the vented portion of the goggles exclude spherical objects that are 0.06 inches (1.5 millimetres) in diameter or greater. In cases where impact is the hazard and a splash or vapour hazard does not exist, a direct vented goggle can be used as an appropriate level of protection.
Indirect vented goggles provide protection from splash entry by a hooded or covered vent. The vented portion of the goggle is designed so that no direct straight-line passage from the exterior to the interior of the goggle exists. In cases where chemical splash is a hazard, indirect vented goggles should be selected as appropriate protection
Non-vented goggles have no venting of any kind and offer protection against the passage of dust, mist, liquid and vapours. For applications where chemical vapour* is the hazard, a non-vented goggle will be required protection.

Can I wear my goggles with prescription glasses?

A.Most goggles are sized to allow prescription eyewear to be worn with them
