RS PRO S.84 EN331 Gas and Drinking Water Brass Ball Valve

RS PRO range of manual brass ball valves. Manual ball valves are used to operate shut off valves which control water flow and pressure. These quarter turn brass full-bore ball valves have a lever handle and are suitable for high temperature hot water services in domestic, commercial and industrial applications.

Ball valves can be used for air, gases, water, steam, chemicals, petrochemical products, etc. These valves are simple to use, you move the handle by a quarter of a turn to open or close the valve.
RS PRO have a great range of brass ball valves for the control of flow which can handle various pressures and high temperatures.
Available in different sizes:
733-5151 - Gas lever handle ball valve 1/4 inch
733-5158 - Gas lever handle ball valve 1/2 inch
733-5154 - Gas lever handle ball valve 3/8 inch
733-5167 - Gas lever handle ball valve 3/4 inch
733-5160 - Gas lever handle ball valve 1 inch
733-5164 - Gas lever handle ball valve 1 1/4 inch

733-5176 - Gas lever handle ball valve 2 inch

Legionella is a bacterium that lives and proliferates in natural and artificial aquatic environments at temperatures ranging between 5.7°C and 55°C and stands up to acidic and alkaline environments. New s.84 maintains certification for use with gas and adds approval for use in drinking water, the specific ball design avoids water stagnation and the spread of bacteria in the system. Applications include, gas, oil, water and drinking water.

Features and Benefits:

Chrome plated brass ball for longer life rinse hole
Silicone-free lubricant on all seals
Travel stops on body to avoid stress at stem
24h 100% seal test guaranteed
Dual sealing system allows valve to be operated in either direction making installation easier
No metal-to-metal moving parts
No maintenance ever required
Handle clearly shows ball position
RoHs Compliant
Working Temperature: -40°C to +170°C, 0°C to +60°C (gas)
Maximum Working Pressure: 40 bar up to 2 inch and 30 bar over 2 inch

Typical Applications

Manual quarter turn ball valves are available in various sizes to meet a range of applications. They feature a manual hand lever and can be made from brass, stainless steel and plastic. Ball valves are popular as they are reliable and durable and still close securely over long periods making them suitable for shutoff and control applications.
Applications include:
Heating systems
Water treatment
Gas flow control
Liquid flow control

FAQs

How does a manual ball valve work?
A ball valve is a type of shut off valve that controls the flow of liquids or gases by its rotary ball. The valve is open when the ball’s hole is in line with the flow and closed when the ball is rotated by a quarter turn (90 degrees) by the valve handle.

What is the difference between full bore and reduced bore ball valves?
A full-bore ball valve (also known as full port) has an oversized ball so that the hole in the ball is the same size as the pipeline resulting in lover friction loss. In other words, the bore diameter has the same internal diameter as the pipe. A reduced bore valve has a smaller bore diameter than the internal diameter of the pipework it is on.

Warning

Freezing of the fluid in the installation may severely damage the valve
