RS PRO Tri-Rated 0.75mm Cable 100m
Our RS Pro tri-rated cable has been designed to be used within electrical equipment, most commonly for wiring items that include power switchgear. The cable is also great for internal connections within rectifier equipment, motor starters, and controllers. Our RS PRO tri-rated cable range features highly durable wires that are made with flexible copper and are encased with a HR PVC (heat resistant polyvinyl chloride) insulation. The high maximum operating temperature of 105°C allows them to be used with a wide variety of applications such as electrical cabinets. RS PRO tri-rated cables are available in a variety of different coloured HR PVC sheaths including blue, black, red, brown, green, yellow and many more, to accommodate for a number of applications.
RS PRO 0.75mm cross sectional area tri-rated cables feature a maximum current rating (Amperes) of 14A
Features & Benefits
Through the approval of three international standards, our RS Pro tri-rated cable is perfectly suited for equipment installations that require both North America and European wiring regulations and codes of practice
Conductor stranding is flexible, plain annealed copper
Flame retardant, spread of flame has been tested to BS EN 50265, VW-1 and FT-1 standards
Oil resistant with temperatures up to 60°C
Manufactured within the United Kingdom
Alternating voltage does not exceed 600 V to earth and direct voltage does not exceed 1000V to earth
Variety of sheath colours
Suitable for wiring circuits where the alternating test voltage does not exceed 4kV r.m.s for 1 minute.
Maximum operating temperature of 105°C
What is a tri-rated cable?
Tri-rated cable is a type of single core insulated electrical cable (with Class 5 flexibility as rated by British Standard BS EN 60228:2005). Tri-rated cable is also known as BS6231, panel wire or switchgear cable. It is made with flexible plain annealed copper that is covered with an HR PVC (heat resistant polyvinyl chloride) insulation. The term tri-rated refers to meeting the specifications of three separate standards. These standards are BSI, (The British Standards Institute) UL, (Underwriters Laboratories) and CSA (Canadian Standards Associations).
What applications is Tri Rated cable used in?
These tri-rated switchgear cables are commonly used in power switchgear applications but they can be used in everyday electrical installations with the final result of overall higher quality.
Electrical cabinets
Switch control in power switchgear
Relay and instrumentation panels of power switchgear
Internal connectors in rectifier equipment
Motor starters and controllers
Small electrical devices
Industrial electrical installations
Panel building
