3M Scotch-Weld DP8005 Structual Plastic Adhesive
Introducing the 3M™ Scotch-Weld™ 8005. This is a two-component acrylic adhesive that's specifically formulated to bond low surface energy (LSE) plastics. However, it will also bond a variety of other materials ranging from metals, rubber, glass, ceramics and glass with limited surface preparation. For general adhesive applications, this 3M solution is versatile and reliable.
Controlled Dispensing
The Scotch-Weld™ DP8005 has a medium viscosity, great for precision dispensing and spreads sufficiently out on the surface. With a mix ratio of 10:1 it provides a 3 minutes working time. It reaches its maximum bond by approximately 3 hours and its fully cured in 24 hours (22°C).
Simple Adhesive with Acrylic
Acrylic adhesives are a two-part package that provides excellent bond strength and durability. Is also referred to as epoxy adhesive or epoxy glue, its very unique without priming or surface preparation when bonding LSE plastics.
Features and Benefits
Ability to structural bond low surface energy plastics such as polyolefins, polypropylene, polyethylene and TPO's
Excellent resistance to water and humidity combined with very good chemical resistance results in a bond that can withstand a variety of applications and conditions
Cures at room temperature without heat or other chemicals to eliminate complex adhesion processes
One step process results in a strong bond on low surface energy plastics minimizing or eliminating pre-treatment or preparation of the substrates needed prior to bonding
Requires 3M EPX™ Manual Dispenser (RS - 905-4573) and DP8005 nozzle (RS - 349-3146)
