RS PRO High Temperature Molded Reed Sensor Switch
RS PRO flat sensor are magnetically operated reed proximity switches which have been designed for high temperatures (150°C ) and feature mounting holes for screw fastening. The sensor should be mounted on a fixed surface with the actuating magnet on the moving surface. By presenting or removing the magnetic field determines the closing and opening of the reed switch.
Reed switches are a type of industrial switch and are used to interrupt or redirect the flow of electricity within a circuit. Reed switches are composed of two ferrous reeds in a small glass casing. The switches are magnetised and move when the magnetic field is moved towards the switch. A reed switch can turn on or off when a magnetic field is nearby.
RS PRO have a great range of industrial magnetic proximity switches and magnetic proximity sensors to suit many different applications.
Features and Benefits:
Ideal for high temperatures (150°C) - for use in extreme environments
Dimensions: H19 x L26.6 x W6.35 mm
Screw mounting on fixed surface
Teflon coated wire leads
Cable length 500 mm
Typical Applications:
Reed Proximity Switches and Proximity Sensors (also known as magnetic sensors) are popular due to their reliability and simple design.
Magnetic proximity switches are a type of electromagnetic switch which controls the flow of electricity within a circuit. Magnetic proximity switches can be used in the following applications:
Position sensing
Linear actuators
Security switching
Door Switch
FAQs
What is a magnetic proximity switch?
Magnetic proximity switches are a type of electromagnetic switch which controls the flow of electricity within a circuit.
What is the difference between a proximity switch and a proximity sensor?
A proximity sensor is a sensor which is able to detect the presence of nearby objects without any physical contact. Proximity switches open or close an electrical circuit when they make contact with or come within a certain distance of an object.
