10mm RS Pro Anti-Static Wrist Strap

The RS Pro anti-static wrist strap is a premium metal wrist band (stainless steel) that is adjustable and features a coiled cord. Its metal interior is great for grounding. This wrist strap will fit all wrists as its circumference adjusts from 195mm up to 245mm. There isn’t a need to fiddle with clips as it just pulls over for ease of use.

This wrist strap can be used in a variety of places such as clean rooms, ESD safe areas or at home for projects. With a 10mm port on both ends of the cord it allows for use in medical type sockets.

Designed with the best features, this wrist strap includes a coiled wire. The wire is insulated in a 2.5mm polyurethane for protection. The conductor is a high strength 7-end duplex tinsel for strength and plenty of flexibility. In each socket a 1 mega-ohm resistor is built into each socket with a power rating of 0.25 watt.

Features and benefits-

• All black for a sleek look.
• Coiled cord with over 2m of cord for lots of movement and flexibility in your work space.
• Dielectric strength – Cord can withstand 1250 volts DC for up to one minute.
• 10mm studs on both sides of the coil allow for versatile use.
• 0.05 polyphenlysulfone sheet is laminated over each link. Providing 5000 volt RMS insulation.
• Adjustable for all wrist types.
• 1 Megaohm resistor built into both 10mm sockets.

FAQ-

Do I really need an anti-static wristband?
If you’re working with components that are effected by ESD (Electro Static Discharge), then we recommend you get a wrist strap, otherwise your components could be damaged.

When should I wear my wristband?
You should wear it when in contact with components that are sensitive to ESD. Most clean rooms and ESD safe work areas will require you to wear one when sitting on a chair too for optimum protection.
